my name is James; I was published four times as a teen in contests, twice placing in the top 10 in the nation (for they were national competitions). Most of my writing is geared towards young adulthood/late teenage years, and has large influences from real life traumas that I have endured (death of a child and substance abuse primarily; clean now for over a year ^^). I found this site early in the morning, and I haven't much gotten a chance yet to poke around and see what I can stick my snout into; are there general things that I should know? how to search for styles, people, topics that I should leave in my journals, etc?
I'm eager to meet and mingle with fellow poets, so it'd be dandy if this got a reply or two from some friendly folk =D
